I thought then that the people and the environment were the really pain that I needed to get rid of fast to get the peace and happiness I needed in my life.

Then another season of life came, the college years , which wasn’t so different in terms of challenges posed. It came with its own issues that really pissed me off and made me wish I could become invisible and unreachable.

Then I joined the job market, the offices with the gossip, backbiting and running down of fellow colleagues. Even now , working on my own business , I still have to face difficult prospects and clients sometimes. I learnt to allow growing strong in the seasons of life.

These experience taught me- To be independent of the circumstances. Celebrate the seasons of life and be happy. Each season of life has its reasons and task .It also has personal development it can so in us if we allow it rather than fight that season of life.

I should have found a way to enjoy those years more than I did. I should have celebrated those years by making the best of every moment even without the applause and support of others.

If only I knew then that my peace and well being have very little to do with others but most to do with myself. It all about my out look to life , my faith in who God have made me to be and what He is working in me to become.

Nature gives us diverse seasons . There are the rainy , dry and harmattan . Also there are the winter,summer, fall, spring . Depending on the part of world one lives. These seasons depending on their effects and acuteness will require us to adjust in colours, dressing , mode/manner of activities.

Likewise there are different seasons of a man’s life . We must learn to adjust in colour, out looks to life, and manners to make the best of it.
Every season has the ability to challenge us and even propel us towards a particular direction but non is that strong that it can’t be worked through or around to achieve or retain what you so desire of life.

By the grace of Almighty God you can make every season of life beautiful both in you and about you.

Face it. Overcoming fears  is more of taking actions than of wishes. Why you are still struggling with overcoming fears  and making a positive change in respect to  that job that is killing your spirit and making you so miserable? Fear of  possible negative outcome.

You are sticking with that self-defeating job  because everyone including  your loved ones thinks that it is the safest thing to do and you lack the guts to appear “odd” .

You are probably trying  to  find solace  by playing up old feelings  and going back in time with those nostalgia- the  self pity , reminding  yourself  of all  you been through and consoling yourself  that your present situation is the best you can have .

You are probably thinking like this : Next year I will leave or make a change ; Let me try  and combine this work with something else to save enough to leave or make a change; I have to make enough money to cover cost incase of any eventuality; I am just complaining too much ,everyone is coping with the situation; A bird at hand is better than two in the bush ;    I am really working at overcoming fears  in me;

Holding on to this job is the right thing to do now , I  have so many responsibilities and can’t afford this risk; I can’t be so stupid as to leave a job if am not very sure of making enough money else where;  Need to have money always , it is too much risk running a business , what if money does not come as expected? The list is endless.

There will always be enough excuses to keep you under until you decide  to break off and take a step of faith.  It is in making  moves  that you overcome  fears.  If you find yourself in such job trap , it may require a change to another job that its conditions are harmonious with your  life.

It might be a case of leaving day job entirely and starting a business of your own. In my case , I knew I was done with day jobs. This move will go a long way to help overcoming fear  in you. And there is no better time than now.
All your cards don’t need to be perfect. The passion for the  realisation of  your vision and having  better options in life  should be  propelling enough to cause you  to take the necessary strides towards  overcoming  fear of  changes.

A deep conviction in your spirit that you  are in agreement with the will  of God for your life can really help in overcoming fears. This conviction will come as you seek the face of God  and confess His promise of guidance .   Isaiah 48:17 , “I am God, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.”

The first step to overcoming procrastination is to eliminate all the reasons and excuses for not taking immediate action—John L. Mason. Above also goes for overcoming fears.

The more you waste time not taking steps, the more likely the vision will appear unattainable or even stupid .

When you shy away from  making the right decisions for your life, someone’s decisions will be imposed on you.

Issues requiring your making decisions on may range from important issues like taking steps to discipline yourself along the right path such as being punctual at meetings, how you  react to another person’s actions and attitude to very important issues like the career path to take, who to marry,creating   goal  plan to achieve your ambitions, accepting the Word of God, accepting Lord Jesus Christ into your life.

You can choose not to go through decision making process and chart the course of your life but by so doing you are allowing other people’s choices chart the course of your life.

James 1:8, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” . If you are unable to say this or that is what you want of life and insist on it, then you will always have just anything thrown to you. Life may be full of risks but it is riskier not taking risk.

Do you have to go along with a career lane just because it pays well? Everyone else but you says that it is good and fulfilling. Do you have to continue with a day job that is making you more miserable than happy because you are afraid of making decision to start  something on your own?

Do you have to go through relationships that fall short of what it should be because you are ignoring making decision to work on yourself to be the right person so that you can nurture a healthy relationship when the right person comes along?

You need single-mindedness, faith in God and yourself in making difficult decision and you have all to gain for taking charge of your life.

I intentionally selected the books I liked their themes (It can really be off hand when someone is trying to sell what he knows nothing about, or at least interested to know about).

Finding your life purpose is an all important issue in life because that will go a long way in determining your fulfillment at the end of the day.

To discover your life purpose and focus  on a particular life direction requires God’s guidance and singularity of heart .  As you trust in God for guidance and commit your heart to seriousness of purpose , some career paths  will start to make deep impression to you . You discover that you experience joy  meeting a particular need of others in a particular way.

You don’t have to  run around trying to bring attention to yourself. Settle down to a meaningful value-adding work of service , develop and grow in it and you will be noticed.   Your self worth will be highly improved if you can get to discover your  life purpose, stick to it and develop it for therein will your relevance be made manifest.

Even if you still don’t have a clear cut idea of what is your life purpose , but there are things when you get involved with gives  fulfillment to you , it will serve you well  if you pay  more attention and look deeper. Following your passion can help in finding your life purpose.

That reminds me of a story someone told  of how he was almost  lured into leaving the country in search of “greener pasture” but he resisted because according to him that was not the path of his calling.

Many years down the line , he has  attained a status in life that is much more higher than that of his friend who is outside the country. Finding your life purpose may sometimes require that you quit following the crowd and go it the challenging and enduring path.

Are you in a  chosen  career path simply because it is acclaimed to be lucrative ?You know what -You might have gotten yourself trapped in a miserable  circle of rat race .   Finding your life purpose will require confidence in yourself  and faith in your God-given ability and talent. Any job that can impact positively on  the society or  individuals,  meet a need can be lucrative and honourable .

It only requires you to believe in your job, stick hard to it ,develop it , brand it(by emphasising on the potential value) and be creative about  its packaging and market it right .

Everyone of us has a gift , potential , that need to discovered , harnessed and developed. As you take these steps you will right on the path to finding your life purpose  for therein lies the potential that will take to that  height you so much desire.

That is the secret of abundance and creating abundance. Financial abundance will always gravitate towards those who by their actions and activities make life more meaningful and wholesome to others.

The world is such that only in enriching  others we can actually attract abundance to ourselves. Anytime a society, a system ,or a person undermines the power of serving others with our talents,skill and gifts concentrate  solely on what we can grab , chaos is inevitable. When you become committed to the purpose of provision of solutions to others needs you manifest abundance.

When a relationship whether formal or informal is all about what you are obtaining from  it and little  or nothing about sacrificial love through emphasizing on how your present opportunities can be used to enhance others ,there is bound to be a quick demise.

The world always create space for true givers and direct  abundance to them . Those who can envision and work for the good of others before focusing on the profit accruable to them. Those whose hearts are in their giving , they believe in it  and go about it with passion.

You can and should dictate to life what you want of it by the quality of value you add to it. It is either you are willing and passionate enough to figure out how you can be more valuable and thereby empowering yourself to a high extent to be able to negotiate what you take of life . Or  you will be dictated to   .

If you commit to becoming a positive force to reckon with by dedicating  to provision of solutions to challenges faced by others, you are undoubtedly placing yourself in a position to attract abundance .

We all have potentials, skill and talents impacted to us by God but it is your responsibility to develop them by putting them into use through  service of mankind and in so doing pull abundance to yourselves.  Now money gets  to  work  for you not you working for money again.

Most accomplished people apply the principle of living a  1 hour/or more stardom everyday .What do that mean? These people seem to consciously or unconsciously apply themselves to a time management plan that employs the law of repetition.  This law says that repetition is the law of lasting impression.

If you want to be Genevieve Nnaji of Nollywod or Julia Roberts of Hollywood then just get yourself acting, any how, just do acting at least one hour or more everyday.

If you want to sing like  Asa , Tuface of Nigerian music or Mariah Carey , Celine Dion,  Cece Winans then get your self singing , really singing whether or not someone is around to applaud you.  Just continue to apply yourself to this time management action plan.

If you want to be another Wole Soyinka , Chinue Achebe of the literary world then start writing . Spend at least one hour everyday writing .  Just write even if what you write seem  stupid to you.

Before you realize it, your excellence will burst forth.  Establishing  a time management plan  and being committed to it gets you disciplined for greatness.

These established individuals have  come to  know and appreciate the power of effective time management. They know that they  will never be celebrated publicly if they are never celebrated  privately  (by themselves or someone who appreciates their talent). You get that?

Never forget that those you admire had their dark days of formation . Days that they had to separate from the world and all they admire and reach out to their inner man to bring to reality that which they dream and desire so much to become.

Why Time Management?

Tension may arise as we face a project ,assignment or actions we must take to achieve a goal. This is caused by an overwhelmedness due to the magnitude of the project , the technicality involved, details that need to be considered. Fear creeps in and there is a mental blackout.

A cold feet normally develops towards the assignment such that you find yourself postponing taking those right actions and occupy yourself with activities not primary to the achievement of your goal.

You know what;  Deep down in your heart you know that you are doing just the wrong things and being just busy. You find yourself anxious but still not making progress.

Apply a Time Management Strategy

A good time management plan is an act of managing your time such that there is total productivity and self well being . Every person has 24 hrs a day , 7 days a week to become that he or she aspires to be . But the actualization of those goal relies on your ability to manage , focus, direct your energies timely and appropriately to actions you must take on a day to day basis.

I have discovered that a good time management planning is very helpful in keeping you disciplined as it relates to the usage of your time . It checkmates you and ensures you keep to what is necessary and do what need to be done.

Steps to Creating an Effective Time Management Schedule

 1. A time management plan should aim at improving your personal  effectiveness.

2.  Actions or activities assigned to a particular time must be simpe enough. By being simple, I mean that you  should start allocating assignments you can understand , manage and and can at least to  an extent relate to . Don’t overwhelm yourself with your schedule.

 3.  Let the most uncomfortable , challenging and vital actions take top priorites .

4.  As the project matures, add new activites/duties to your time management plan.

5.  Respect your body and relationships in your time management. Don’t becomes a workaholic and overly goal -minded that you forget that your body needs  sufficient rest. I don’t know how you hope to ignore your 3 years old in your plan. Make out time to attend to those unavoidable demands of your relationships.

6.  Keep to your plan, in season and out of season. This way you discipline your body and mind to be attentive , focused as it pertains to vital issues of your goal.  You must keep your mind to that which is important to your life by continuously applying yourself to demands of your time management schedule.

7.  Ensure that you review your plan as and when necessary

Application of time management strategy can give a big boost to your  self management and effectiveness.
